Missionaries:

At Northview, we believe it is our job to bring the truth about Jesus to the ends of the earth.  Though we cannot physically go ourselves, we support missionaries and organizations who are doing just that all over the world.  Below is a list of some of the missionaries we support.
If you would like more information about any of our missionaries or our missions ministry, email Ben Burgess at bhburgess@bluemarble.net

  Scott and Amber Ancarrow

  Maryland, USA

We didn’t set out to be church planters.  We fell that church planting found us. The Northeast is an area where the number of Christians is steadily        declining.  This area, from Washington DC through New England, is the    location of some of the United States’ largest and oldest cities.                Additionally, this area hold a large population.  For several years, our family has prayed about an appropriate time and context to help be part of creating church community in the Northeast for those who don’t know the love of Christ.  Scott, who is from Maryland originally, has felt specifically drawn to the Baltimore / Washington DC area, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the US.
We prayed for one clear opportunity and God has given us two. In late 2010, our family moved from Indiana to Annapolis, the capital city of Maryland to help start Revolution Annapolis.  There Scott serves as a church planter in residence, serving at Revolution while learning how a church plant functions.  In early 2013, we will seek to lead in the launching of a second church in the Baltimore / Washington DC area.  While location is still to be determined, the goal is to help further a movement of gospel-centered churches in the Northeast.

  Jonathan and Sarah McCallum

  Madrid, SPAIN
  /files/General/Missionaries Pics/McCallums2011.jpg

The McCallums are a warm and encouraging couple that has a huge heart for reaching lost people with the gospel of Christ.  They, along with their 1 year old daughter, Suzanna are currently serving in Madrid, Spain in partnership with WEC.  They are spending time in the city, getting to know people, sharing Christ with friends and neighbors, and improving their    Spanish.  Their plan is to later head to northern coast of Spain to plant churches in the Basque Country.  The Basque people are an ancient race of mysterious origins, who have largely maintained their cultural identity despite attempts by the Spanish and French over the centuries to integrate them into their societies.  There are very few evangelical churches in this part of Spain, so the McCallums will have a large task ahead of them.  Please pray for the McCallums and their ministry in Spain.

Pray for:

o       New relationships with locals

o       Language learning

o       Joy everyday

o       Patience in adjusting to a new culture

o       Growth in God’s grace

o       Adoption process – they are trying to adopt from Ethiopia

o       Following the Spirit in sharing Christ

  Zebedee Togarepi

  Chiredzi, ZIMBABWE
  /files/General/Missionaries Pics/ZebedeeandRatidzo.final.jpg

Zebedee Togarepi and Second Mile International are involved in church planting and evangelism through schools and orphan care in Zimbabwe. Because sixty percent of Zimbabwe's population is twenty-five years old and younger, that is who they gear their ministry towards. The Chiredzi Christian Children's home takes in the orphans and provides a place for them to live, provides food, and provides teaching about God and his plan for these children. For more information on Zebedee's work in Zimbabwe, visit the Hippo Valley Christian Mission website at hippovalley.com

CHIREDZI CHRISTIAN CHILDREN'S HOME
In 1956 John and Marjorie Pemberton went to Southern Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, as missionaries with Central Africa Mission. Their work has centered on establishing churches, training leaders of the churches, evangelism, and establishing schools where Bible is taught as a required subject. John and Marjorie retired from the mission field to Grayson, KY in 1994. Their sons John Mark and Bob have worked hand in hand with other local Christian co-workers to build on the foundation they began. The schools continue to be a powerful tool of evangelism as well as a training ground for future leaders in the church. Since John Mark’s untimely death in November, 2005, Leanna has been asked by the Board to remain fulltime as Hippo Valley Christian Mission continues it’s work, with a team of ministers in the Mashoko/Hippo Valley area, in discipling and church planting. This has included working with repatriated Mozambican refugees, where the Lord has raised up three evangelists and five congregations. In response to the incredible AIDS crisis in Zimbabwe, Chiredzi Christian Children's Home and Chiredzi Christian Children's Village have been opened for orphans where children victimized by AIDS find refuge and hope through Jesus.
